The Great Wall of China

Posted on

Visiting the Great Wall of China is a worthwhile trip that will leave you awed by our human ability to build monuments that seem impossible in their size and scope. Today, the Great Wall is not on any official borders of China, but it does mark the historical northern borders of its country. When on the wall, there are plenty of lookouts that display the beautiful rolling hill vistas of China’s northern wilderness. If you plan to visit the Great Wall, however, you should expect a lot of walking.

In its entirety, the wall is over twenty-one thousand kilometers long. It is very hilly, with many ups and downs, both steep and gradual. It can be crowded too, as there are a lot of people who like visiting this wonder of the world. If you are the type of person who gets leg pain from extended periods of walking, but still have an avid spirit to get out there and see the world’s wonders, then Dr. Segal’s Compression Socks are the travel socks for you. You will notice how the socks alleviate your leg pain, allowing you to walk for longer. Had I known of Dr. Segal’s Compression Socks back in 2009, when I visited the Great Wall of China, I most certainly would have worn them.

To reach the Great Wall usually requires a long bus ride. This drive can be tough on your legs. There is such limited space on these buses, and they leave you feeling cramped and unable to move. When sitting for an extended period of time in cramped conditions, your legs can get fatigued and sore. Dr. Segal’s Compression Socks are designed to keep your legs energized during these periods of decreased mobility.

It was a misty morning when we arrived at the Great Wall, and the sky was quite clouded over. Upon arrival, the stony structure met us with an immediate uphill climb. On the wall, the path is either stairs or flat, sometimes both. It was November when we were there, and some of the walkway was frozen over with ice and snow. With only so much of the pathway available to walk on, things were more crowded than usual. After only a couple hours of walking, we had to return to the bus, where we sped off to our next location.

Tourist travel is often full of motion and speed. You are in one large location then you are zipped to the next large location. This can be tough on your legs because of all the movement at the locations, and the limited movement in the cramped buses. So the next time you go travelling, wear Dr. Segal’s Compression Socks. They will help your legs stay energized all day, no matter how far you travel. They are also great to wear on the airplane. Dr. Segal’s Compression Socks are a must-pack for the everyday traveler.
